In the mid-1980s she moved to Mexico, studying at the Instituto de Bellas Artes in Cuernavaca and working in a studio producing monumental figurative sculptures, the real beginning of her own visual voice. She has also represented the United States at the National Gallery of Fine Art in the Dominican Republic, and has taught workshops on sculpture patina and surface treatment in both New York and Mexico.
