Call for Artists: Venus Rising - An All Women's Art Show

We are thrilled to announce an open call for artists to participate in "Venus Rising," an all women's art show celebrating the creative brilliance of women artists. This exhibition seeks to showcase and promote the diverse and powerful voices of women in the art world.

Submission Guidelines:

• Deadline: Submissions are open from now until January 31, 2024.
• Announcement: Selected artists will be announced on February 14, 2024.
• Exhibition Dates: The art show will run from March 9 to April 6, 2024.
• Artist Talk: Join us for an artist talk on March 14, 2024, providing a platform for the selected artists to share insights into their creative processes.

Representation: Three artists will be selected to receive a year's representation with opportunities to participate in a curated selection of exhibits throughout the year.

Submission Process:

1. Portfolio Submission: Artists are invited to submit their portfolio for consideration (make sure to include your CV).
2. Images: Include 10 high-quality images of available artworks that exemplify your artistic style and creativity.
3. Artist Statement: Please include a brief artist statement explaining your creative process and the inspiration behind your work.

Entry Fee:

• There is a non-refundable entry fee of $35 to be submitted with your application.

Selection Criteria:

A panel of esteemed judges will review portfolios based on the following criteria:

• Originality and innovation
• Technical skill
• Conceptual depth
• Relevance to the theme "Venus Rising"

Eligibility:

• The call is open to women artists of all ages, both nationally and internationally.

Theme Explanation:

• "Venus Rising" celebrates the strength, resilience, and creative power of women. We invite artists to explore and interpret this theme in their unique ways.

Media and Style:

• The exhibition is open to a wide range of artistic expressions, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and digital art.

Delivery and Return of Artworks:

• Details regarding the delivery and pickup of artworks will be provided upon selection. Artists are responsible for any shipping costs.

Publicity:

• The exhibition will be extensively promoted through press releases, social media platforms, and collaborations with art publications.

• Marcolina's Fine Arts Gallery is an innovative premier contemporary art gallery, showcasing diverse works by local and international artists across traditional and cutting-edge styles. We are committed to promoting the work of emerging and established women artists.
