Poseidon — Guillo Perez III

Original • Oil on Stretched Canvas • Stretched & unframed

Poseidon by Guillo Pérez III is a striking oil on canvas that channels the mythic force of the sea through bold color, movement, and emotional intensity. A powerful blue figure on a hammerhead shark emerges from deep currents, glowing against vivid red and magenta strokes that ripple like heat, energy, and rising tides.

Guillo blends Caribbean symbolism with his evolving abstract mythology, transforming the ocean’s guardian into a contemporary, electric form. The swirling brushwork and luminous edges create a sense of motion and ascent, suggesting both danger and transcendence, creation and chaos. The piece vibrates with narrative tension yet radiates calm at its core.

Poseidon exemplifies Guillo’s ability to fuse myth, culture, and abstraction into a single, emotionally charged visual experience.

About the Artist — Guillo Pérez III

Guillo Pérez III is a Dominican–American painter whose work merges the strength of his Caribbean heritage with the edge of his New York upbringing. As the grandson of the celebrated master Guillo Pérez, he carries a powerful artistic lineage, yet his voice is unmistakably his own.

Working from Tampa, Guillo developed his signature philosophy, Bauhaus Budō, blending Bauhaus structure with the discipline of martial arts. His paintings pulse with geometry, myth, color, and movement.

His work has been exhibited across the U.S. and the Caribbean, and he has helped build creative communities in Miami, New York, and Tampa. The New York Times recognized him as a “Star Maker.”
