Ailene Fields is a celebrated American sculptor known for her masterful command of stone, bronze, and acrylic, materials she uses to breathe life into works that blend mythology, magic, and human emotion. Represented by Marcolina’s Fine Arts Gallery, Ailene brings a rare combination of classical technique and narrative depth to the contemporary sculpture world.
With degrees in English Literature and Greek Mythology from Lehman College, Ailene infuses her work with timeless storytelling. Drawing inspiration from ancient legends and universal symbols, she sculpts evocative forms that speak to both the past and present. Her recurring motifs, animals, mythological figures, and architectural dreamscapes, often emerge in surreal, uplifting compositions that feel both grounded and enchanted.
Ailene began her journey as a self-taught potter, later studying the human figure with master sculptor Bruno Lucchesi at the New School for Social Research in New York. She deepened her skills at the Sculpture Center in NYC, becoming highly proficient in stone carving and bronze casting, two mediums in which she continues to create profound and technically complex works.
Her signature style often involves blending stone and bronze in the same sculpture, creating textural tension and harmony that highlights the inner spirit of her subjects. Whether carving alabaster or casting bronze, Fields reveals moments of quiet strength, joy, and transformation, reminding us of the enduring qualities that make us human.
Her works have been featured in prestigious exhibitions across the U.S., and her sculptures are held in private collections and public spaces alike. As an esteemed stone carving teacher, Fields has influenced a generation of sculptors with her passion, discipline, and visionary approach to form.
