Fontaine-Barr
She calls it a whimsical and peaceful place, and a soothing scene, and that is exactly where this canvas takes you. Colors of the Wind is a landscape that does not exist on any map. Something conjured out of color memory and the specific light of the Gulf Coast filtered through a New Orleans imagination. Hot pinks and oranges laid down first, then the scene found itself. This is how Fontaine-Barr always works: she puts the photo away, lets feeling take over, and paints what emerges. Award of Excellence, Bay Area 9th Annual Art Show. Collections in five states.
