How Payment Plans Work at Marcolina's

One of the most common questions we get, right after someone falls for a piece, is some version of the same thing: does it have to be paid all at once? The honest answer is no. Payment plans are available on every original work at Marcolina's, and most collectors who buy a significant piece use one.

How it actually works

You reserve the piece with a 25% deposit. Once that's paid, the work comes off the market, it is yours, and no one else can buy it out from under you while you finish paying.

From there, the remaining balance splits into monthly payments sized to the piece: three months for anything under $2,000, up to six months for pieces between $2,000 and $7,000, and up to twelve months for anything above $7,000. Every plan is interest-free. No hidden fee gets added for spreading it out. The piece ships to you once the balance is paid in full, or by arrangement if you'd like to take it home sooner.

There's no credit check involved, no third-party lender, no fine print designed to catch you later. It's a conversation with the gallery, not an application. If something comes up and you need more time on a payment, reach out before it's due, we can almost always work something out. The only thing we ask in return is communication.

Why this matters more than people expect

A payment plan does something beyond making a piece more affordable month to month. It changes the decision itself. Instead of asking "can I afford this today," a collector gets to ask the better question: "is this the piece I actually want?" Those are two very different conversations, and the second one tends to lead to better collections.

This is different from the art-backed lending some collectors use for very high-value works, where the art itself becomes collateral for a loan. That's a real tool, but it's built for a different kind of purchase. A Marcolina's payment plan is simpler: you're paying for a piece you already chose, over time, directly with the gallery that represents the artist.
