People Who
Mean It.
Tampa's most distinctive contemporary fine arts gallery. Collector showroom. Cultural venue. Creative community. Open by appointment and invitation.
Building Something Real.
Marcolina's Fine Arts Gallery was founded by Guillo Pérez 3 and Marcolina Mercado with a single conviction: that museum-caliber art belongs in real people's lives, not just institutions. Guillo is a Dominican-American expressionist painter, educator, and cultural ambassador whose artwork and vision help define the identity of Marcolina's. His work serves as both a creative foundation and a bridge between art, history, community, and cultural enrichment. Marcolina is the curatorial hand that shapes how Guillo's vision lives in the world. With a background in law and a collector's instinct for what belongs on the walls, she selects the artists, builds the roster, and holds the standard for every relationship the gallery maintains. Her touch is in everything, the way the space feels, the artists chosen to share it, and the experience every collector walks away with.
Guillo's path took him through galleries in South Beach, Chelsea, and New York. When he and Marcolina brought the gallery to Tampa, it grew into one of Tampa Bay's most distinctive destinations for original paintings, oil paintings, and contemporary art, with collectors in 48 countries to prove it. Nineteen represented artists, each selected for documented careers, institutional recognition, and work that holds its own at the highest level. Collectors in 48 countries across six continents. Over 40 exhibitions across galleries, institutions, and cultural partnerships. A programming calendar that includes figure drawing, artist talks, sip and paint, and Monday Night Art Class.
This is a gallery built to feel different from the traditional art world. Warm, welcoming, and alive. That has not changed.
"Marcolina's isn't just a gallery. It's a place where people remember who they are."
Guillo Pérez 3, Co-Founder, Artist, Educator, and Cultural Ambassador
Already.
Marcolina's Fine Arts Gallery is Tampa's fully operating contemporary art institution, running at full force. Recognized by Tampa Bay Business and Wealth Magazine as a Philanthropists of the Year Finalist, and the only Ybor City business to receive that recognition. Listed by the Tampa Arts Alliance. Referenced alongside the Ringling and the Museum of Fine Arts St. Pete. ThreeBestRated as Tampa's leading contemporary fine art gallery. These are not future credentials. They are the record of what has already been built.
The programming is already here. The artists are here. The collectors are in 48 countries across six continents. Private viewings are available by request for collectors anywhere in the world, in person in Tampa or virtually. What you see when you access Marcolina's today is the foundation of something much larger.
One Practice.
Born in Santo Domingo and raised in Queens, New York, Guillo Pérez 3 is the third generation of an unbroken artistic lineage. His grandfather, Maestro Guillo Pérez, founded the Escuela Taller Guillo Pérez and is recognized by the U.S. State Department's Art in Embassies program. His father, master painter Willy Pérez, has presented over forty two solo exhibitions across three continents. Guillo trained at his grandfather's school and at Wood Tobé-Coburn in New York.
He co-founded galleries in South Beach and Chelsea, ran ESP Gallery in Chelsea for six years, and presented work at Art Basel Miami Beach. The New York Times named him a Star Maker. In Tampa, he was mentored by the late Theo Wujcik, the celebrated Ybor City painter and USF Graphicstudio director. The Straz Center commissioned him for a mural and called him art royalty. In 2011 he founded Monday Night Art Class in Bushwick, Brooklyn, an accessible weekly class still running today at Marcolina's.
His personal artistic philosophy is Bauhaus Budō, the battle-hardened way. A synthesis of the Bauhaus pursuit of the total artwork and the meditative discipline of martial arts. Geometry as structure. Intuition as movement. Color as emotional force. His work is held in private collections in over 48 countries and alongside Dalí and Picasso at the Skylands Museum of Art.
Six years of programming, exhibitions, and collector relationships. This is what Marcolina's looks like in practice.

Cultural Champions.
In 2025, Marcolina's Fine Arts Gallery was recognized by Tampa Bay Business and Wealth Magazine as a Philanthropists of the Year Finalist. Marcolina's was the only Ybor City business to receive that recognition, selected for sustained contributions to arts access and cultural enrichment across Tampa Bay. The recognition reflects the gallery's sustained commitment to arts access, cultural enrichment, and community building across Tampa Bay.
It is an honor we carry seriously. Not as a trophy, but as a reminder of why we built this in the first place: because Tampa deserved a gallery that felt like home.
