Abstract Fish II carries the same hidden logic as its companion piece, fish built from linear marks and geometric fragments rather than outlined forms, but pushes the composition further toward decomposition. The underlying shapes are looser here, less resolved into recognizable form, which changes how long the painting holds your attention before it starts to reveal itself.
At 22 by 30 inches, the proportions run wider than Abstract Fish I, giving the fragmented forms more room to spread horizontally across the canvas.

About the Artist
Willy Pérez is a Dominican painter and clinical psychologist, and the eldest son of Maestro Guillo Pérez. He grew up inside his father's workshop, cleaning brushes and stretching canvases long before he held one of his own, and that early proximity shaped a discipline that has carried through his entire practice.
Where his father worked as a conceptist, building from idea outward, Willy works as an organic painter, led by gesture and feeling. His subjects range from the waters surrounding the Dominican Republic to the geometry of its landscape, painted with a naturalist's attention and an expressionist's color.
He has presented forty-two solo exhibitions across the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Spain, Guadeloupe, Honduras, Panama, and major U.S. art centers including Miami, New York, and Providence. He is a member of the Dominican School of Artists (CODAP) and directs the Guillo Pérez School of Art, founded by his father in 1984.
