Original acrylic painting by Willy Pérez · Dominican painter · Available at Marcolina's Fine Arts Gallery, Tampa, Florida · Ships worldwide
A third figure joins the cyclists in this 44 by 24 inch acrylic, extending the urban, big-city setting Willy Pérez has built across the series. The taller, narrower canvas gives the composition more vertical movement than its companion piece, Dos Ciclistas.
As with the rest of the series, the environment reads as a large modern city rather than a Dominican street scene, and the cyclists carry the same sense of forward motion and rhythm that runs through Willy's other figurative work.

Collector's Note
Tres Ciclistas is the middle work in the vertical Ciclistas trio, and its narrower format makes it a good fit for a hallway or a tighter wall than the others in the series.

"I've developed an alphabet of symbols, like fish, houses, and bicycles, which I feel represent movement, the future, and momentum."
Willy Pérez
About the Artist
Willy Pérez is a Dominican painter and clinical psychologist, and the eldest son of Maestro Guillo Pérez. He grew up inside his father's workshop, cleaning brushes and stretching canvases long before he held one of his own, and that early proximity shaped a discipline that has carried through his entire practice.
Where his father worked as a conceptist, building from idea outward, Willy works as an organic painter, led by gesture and feeling. His subjects range from the waters surrounding the Dominican Republic to the geometry of its landscape, painted with a naturalist's attention and an expressionist's color.
He has presented forty-two solo exhibitions across the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Spain, Guadeloupe, Honduras, Panama, and major U.S. art centers including Miami, New York, and Providence. He is a member of the Dominican School of Artists (CODAP) and directs the Guillo Pérez School of Art, founded by his father in 1984.
