Original mixed media painting by Guillo Pérez 3 · 50 × 60 in · Dominican-American expressionist · Large format contemporary painting · Available at Marcolina's Fine Arts Gallery, Tampa, Florida · Ships worldwide
Guillo Pérez 3 has painted Ybor City more than once, and each version reads differently. This one is the largest and the most built up, a 50 by 60 inch mixed media canvas where the neighborhood shows up in fragments rather than a single view: palm fronds, brick facades, awnings, and slanted architectural lines all pressed into the same surface.
The palette runs warm and saturated, yellow and gold against deep purple and blue, with the kind of contrast that reads like late afternoon light hitting old brick. Guillo builds the surface in layers, so texture does real work here. Some passages sit simple and graphic, others are scraped back or built up thick, and the painting asks to be seen up close as much as from across a room.
Ybor City has been Guillo's home base for years, and this painting is the most direct statement he has made about it. He has described it as a kind of visual diary of the neighborhood, its color, its noise, its layered history, all folded into one canvas rather than told in a straight line.

Collector's Note
At 50 by 60 inches, this is one of the larger works currently available from Guillo, and the most layered example of his Ybor City series. It works well as a centerpiece for a room that can hold real scale, and it gives collectors already following the series a chance to acquire the most ambitious version of it to date.

Guillo Pérez 3
About the Artist
Guillo Pérez 3 is a Dominican-American painter whose work merges the strength of his Caribbean heritage with the edge of his New York upbringing. As the grandson of celebrated master Guillo Pérez, he carries a powerful artistic lineage, yet his voice is unmistakably his own.
Working between New York and Tampa, Guillo developed his signature philosophy, Bauhaus Budō, blending Bauhaus structure with the discipline of martial arts. His paintings pulse with geometry, myth, color, and movement.
His work has been exhibited across the U.S. and the Caribbean, and he has helped build creative communities in Miami, New York, and Tampa. The New York Times recognized him as a "Star Maker."
