Willy Pérez – Contemporary Dominican Master

Born in Santo Domingo, Willy Pérez is the son of the legendary Maestro Guillo Pérez, one of the most revered names in Dominican art. Following in his father’s footsteps, Willy began his studies at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, and continued his art education at the prestigious Candido Bidó Art Center and the renowned Art Students League in New York. Today, in addition to being an accomplished artist, Willy Pérez serves as a Clinical Psychologist and directs the esteemed “Guillo Pérez” School of Art.

With an impressive career spanning over 35 solo exhibitions and participation in more than 60 group exhibits in museums, art galleries, and cultural centers throughout the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Spain, Guadeloupe, Honduras, Panama, and key art hubs in the U.S., including Miami, New York, and Providence.

Willy Pérez is celebrated for his captivating exploration of the universe of water, beautifully capturing the mysteries and treasures of aquatic life with vibrant detail. Yet, his work goes far beyond the beauty of the sea. However, the artist has not limited himself to marine biodiversity and the aquatic environment with its chromatic nuances. His paintings also depict the geometry of the Dominican landscape, highlighting its vibrant Caribbean colors and suggesting ecological preservation.

Collectors and art lovers alike will find in Willy Pérez’s work a dynamic fusion of color, culture, and conservation—making his pieces both a visual delight and a timeless investment.
